I agree that fixed brims probably create a safety risk, but I also
suspect a helmet with a fixed brim is safer than no helmet at all.
Certainly the polo community believes this is true. There is a
polo helmet safety standard, apart from the ASTM testing standard
that is the basis of the SEI certification.
