A father and son were rescued out of Mueller Park Canyon on Monday. Randy
Baird and his 10-year-old son, Josh, set out for a father-and-son camping
trip this weekend.

The pair intended to return home Sunday night, but when the bad weather
restricted them from leaving, they opted to stay on the mountain.

Their family on the ground expected them home on Sunday night, but when they
did not arrive, they notified search and rescue to find them.

Within minutes of looking, a Department of Public Safety helicopter spotted
the pair, alive and well.

The Search & Rescue helicopter then proceeded to turn back when the Bairds
decided to come down the mountain on their own.

Then, the father-and-son outing took another turn for the worse. Randy
Baird's horse slipped and fell on top of him prompting a call for the search
and rescue to return.

A Lifeflight helicopter was called in, quickly plucking Randy and his son
off the mountain. 10-year-old Josh was unharmed while his father was flown,
with hip and back injuries, to a nearby hospital.

Both are expected to be okay.
