There are several people across the US that
I personally have talked to, that have brought searches to a
successful end when their horse actually (accidentally) let them know when
a cadaver was near.
There are three of us, that I know of, across the US
that are working on cadaver training on horses with success . One
of which is a very experienced K9 SAR handler who is a member of
this list. It is still in the in the development stages as far a
finished specialized cadaver horse but training does show a lot
promise.
Below are some tips that may help you.
Searching for cadaver on a non
specialized horse.
If you know how to watch your horses silent alert signals
there is a very good chance that your horses will tell you when they pick up a
scent which is out of place such as cadaver . If you
get close, directly in the scent drift and the temperature is right
for decay your horse could very well have a negative
reaction, which is still a signal to you, but the horse could actually
try to avoid a area or possibly act up in other ways.
If you would like, you can contact me
privately through my web site and I may be able to give you other
hints on how to set up your scenting horse search.
