Camp Horse of America has become Certified Horsemanship Association
5318 Old Bullard Rd
Tyler, TX 75703
800-399-0138
Their latest manual, I've been told by a knowledgeable mature instructor & facility owner, was written by a very experienced trail person - Dodi Stacey. They have several different programs & I think you'll find many good things in their manuals & training programs. It will possibly help in not totally reinventing the wheel.
My experience in SAR has led me to believe MSAR needs a program w/an entry level. From the entry level those who are really interested in MSAR will have definite guidelines for progression to more advanced levels. CHA will give us the qualified instructors & judges we will need to implement a professional program.
I'll look forward to hearing your thoughts after you have had time to investigate CHA & thier programs & training manuals & guides.
By the way, Tues we're going to celebrate Veterans Day by riding up the American River Parkway to Folsom for lunch & back again. Wish you were close enough to join us!
Happy trails, Bonnie
tis idea has been discussed by several interested people &

Thanks. Basic care and other info should be in there, similar to other
organizations.
What thoughts do you have for written test topics that would be more
specific to SAR for mounts / riders?
