Subject: [MSAR] Re: radios pagers, SARWe just recently purchased 5 mile HAM radios, they are terriffic. If our team had access or the money however, I would like to have the NEXTEL cell/radio combo. Those 2 way radios reach several cities away.. They may be worth checking into if your team members are willing to purchase their own. They could use it for personal use for their cell phone, but the 2-WAY is unbeliveable how far it reaches. Its perfect for horseback SAR personnel.

Jorene, I have and continue to use 2 way pagers from arch. one of the
national companies that lends a ear to sar,usar and public safety groups in
general. Iv had good success. BUT! PAY VERY CLOSE ATTAENTION to coverages
areas. there typically a metropolitan/major corridor coverage.... jus.
