I had a similar experience with the NOVIC trial I did for Cornell this fall, Andy. I think that the lack of heat makes for less sweet peas. I had trouble with powdery mildew in some varieties. I don't remember which ones, though.

I grew sugar snap peas for the first time this fall. The pods sized nicely, but the peas themselves never got too large and the flavor is more like a snow pea - little sweetness, but pleasant flavor. Is this typical for fall grown peas?
