Also,
Basil.
We grow four kinds strictly for the flowering greens for the bouquets. Might be our most important flower crop. 60' double plants every 16" down a 36" bed.
Cinnamon
lemon
opal
sweet

Zinnias lead the charge.
Ageratum, snaps, bach buttons, gomphrena (globe amaranth), lavender, strawflower, echinacea, Foxglove, Opopeo amaranth, Black Eyed Susan and celosia, we use Flamingo Feather
Just about anything that grows in your zone.

I picked our first flowers today, which I'm glad to have for Mothers Day weekend at market, but as is typical for me, the only thing I have are snapdragons. Buckets and buckets of snaps. What other flowers would bloom at the same time as snaps? I do mixed bouquets for my market, and obviously it's hard to make a mixed bok when I don't have anything else to mix!Any ideas, information, etc... is greatly appreciated so maybe I can plan a little better for next year. Thanks!CarlaPerkins, OKOn Fri, May 11, 2012 at 8:20 AM, Vern and Amy <vaspencer AT sisna.com> wrote:
I know others are having trouble with heat and drought. It finally
stopped raining last week and a cold front blew in for two days. It was
20 degrees this morning. The row cover in the hoophouse was starting to
freeze laying on top of 100 flats of tomato and pepper starts. I turned
on a couple milkhouse heaters before the sun came up and sprinkled the
cherry tree blossoms with the pre-drained hose to try saving them, too.
Have a great day!
Vern
