- Subject: [Market-farming] size of onion transplants
- Date: Tue, 10 Apr 2012 21:24:51 -0400
I planted Bridger onions last fall. They look great, but
need thinning. They are not ½” diameter, but some are a little larger
than the largest plants I got from Dixondale. We don’t have a market for
scallions. I wonder if I can transplant the thinnings, or if having
overwintered the disturbance will make them send up seedheads. Any experience
or knowledge? Thank you. Beth Spaugh http://rhomestead.com
