Thanks to the folks who provided some input. I was hoping there might be
some trapping techniques that folks had had luck with. I'm not sure about
keeping a cat or cats inside a low tunnel or small hoop house (24X40). It
would seem to be pretty hard on the cat. Has anyone had good luck with
trapping voles in closed environments?

Great points, Rivka! I wasn't sure how to put "not feeding too much,"
so I just left it there. Thanks for adding the details and caveats. We
feed our cats dry food. When they act hungry, we feed them more. They also
get some meat scraps sometimes.
