We have problems with these folks saying it is grown by them, as a cousin/brother/uncle has a farm/works on a farm in Texas. They call it their own, even when it is shipped in.

In our neck of the woods, the magic advertising phrase is "East Texas   ."  We try to impress upon our customers that if they see a sign at a market touting East Texas whatever, they should ask the seller about where and how specifically the crop was grown before they buy if local, organic, and/or sustainable is important to them. Over the years that has become the catchphrase most used by resellers. For some reason, it has become a way for them to automatically be trusted.  I'm sure other areas have their own similar catchphrases. Almost without fail, once you question anybody around here using such signage, you'll find the only relationship the crop has to East TX is that was the last highway leg of a long haul voyage the crop(s) made on the back of an 18-wheeler.
