Rodale is doing some interesting stuff.

In order to plant INTO the rolled cover crop you need to use a no-till planter.  Can you economically pull a no-till (even a small two or four row) with draft?  (No experience here) 

As they are rolling grasses in all their test projects you could not do corn or grass small grain.  You could do that in a vetch but I have yet to see a good vetch kill using the roller.   I've been following this and have not seen the crop results either.  Someone out east PA or NY I think was using a custom water wheel set up to plant tomatoes in such a roll-killed cover crop but I have not seen the end results.
