Someone was asking for advice for thermometers. We have an two-lead thermometer that records the min and max temp for 6 days, as well as current temps. In C or F.  It was given to us as part of a research project, and I assumed it was more expensive than I just found it is -$30.  It has been running on its original batteries for two years now (through two winters).  The lead cords are probably 10 feet long. Love it.

Note though that their instructions say that to change from C to F you open the battery compartment on the back, NO, the battery compartment is on the front, and the button is nice and obvious when the battery cover comes off.  I needed to change this, which is why I found the price and web source.
