Josh,

Does your long greenhouse build up a lot of heat at the top end? Or are they side vented?

We have found that the wider the house the taller they have to be and the heat tends to build up at the peak but at ground level where we grow the food the temps remain reasonable. Multiple small greenhouses are a pain but I wonder what the upper limit is on the benefit of large houses. Economically I guess you only have two endwalls as opposed to 8 you would have on the 4[30x96] houses that your 55x210 represents. Are there other less obvious benefits from a large house. One advantage I see in multiple small houses is rotation.

We are building a 55 foot by 210 foot hoophouse, and we've erected a 42 by 192 foot hoophouse. The Hoophouses are a new direction for our vegetable enterprise, we are planning to expand our vegetable acreage by 4 acres, we are wanting to start marketing through a produce auction this year. We have been growing the previous acreage for contract. With the hoop structures we are aiming for some of the lucrative early markets.
