Then you have the 1020 flat which is 11"x21" and the true 1020 which is
10"x20". Most all inserts are made to fit the regular large 1020. The true
1020 was introduced 10 years ago by the big wigs of the bedding plant
industry as a way to get more trays into the greenhouse and squeeze more
blood out of the bedding plant turnip...Bob.

Richard,

What a good question. We often forget not everyone understands all the
jargon. The first number denotes the number of packs in the sheet and the
second, the number of cells in the pack. So, an 1801 has 18 1-cell packs or
18 pots, a 606 has 6 packs with 6 cells in the pack or 36 cells in the flat,
a 806 has 8 packs with 6 cells for 48, an 812, 8 packs of 12 for 96 in the
flat and so on. These are pretty standard for 1020 flats.

A newbie question:

What are all these numbers you all refer to when talking about flats--1801,
2401, etc? Is this a standard set of dimensions or cell numbers among
manufacturers?

thanks, Richard
