Subject: [USCC] Horse manure availability


The owner of a large horse stable has large amounts of both
partially-composted and un-composted horse manure/shavings which she
would like removed. The operation is located just west of Ashland,
VA about 3-4 miles from Interstate 95 in Hanover County. The
existing manure+sawdust horse bedding pile is about 200 yards in
length and ranges from 9-15 feet in depth. Stockpiled bedded manure
is upwards of 5 years old. In addition, the operation generates 350
cubic feet of manure/shavings daily. No adequate equipment is
available on site to load material into large trucks. Only a small
loader is available for loading pick-up trucks. Owner does not have
sufficient funds to pay for removal. She is looking for assistance
in removing the current pile and also establishing a method for daily
waste removal. If you know of composters who would either wish to
compost on-site or remove the material to another site, please contact:
