I refer to the Cornell website often for the latest on organic pest managment of all sorts. You can, by clicking around a bit, also read the studies of the data they present. This website, and our beloved ATTRA too of course, have many good alternatives to chemical pest control.
And, without rattling up a debate about organic certifiers please, I would add that the ethics of the grower have always been the best guarantee of sustainability and stewardship long before a certifier arrived in the organic fields, and that even a petrochemical based mulch is preferable to chemical treatment. Also, there will always be a set of solutions that differ from grower to crop to season to location. The organic grower needs to be flexible without the pressure of a certifier's regulation unless they have chosen to be regulated. (Yes, I have been a grower both ways.)
