The product I was using was not petroleum derived but they did not tell me what the organic source material was. It may have been zein, a corn-based product. It was not a photo-degradable film, which has been on the market for 20 years. What is the source of your biodegradable film? What are the parent materials for its manufacture? There was a biodegradable product that came into the market a number of years ago that was based on linking tiny polyethylene particles with starch molecules. When it broke down you still had tiny plastic particles in your soil that would persist for centuries.
