I grow the big fat Italian eggplant and find that it needs staking as the fruit grows to prevent splitting branches and dragging fruit. A big windstorm can knock them flat.
all of the tomatillo varieties are rangey; yields are much better if you can cage them somehow. I grow Cisneros tomatillos....plant is at least five feet tall with fruit the size of baseballs. I keep them tied to a fence with a 4 X 4 grid and sometimes that is not enough support....but the yields are amazing. (some annoyance with cucurlios and hornworms )
