Shade is shade. You can even alternate boards and spaces across the frames to
get the same partial-shading effect. (Run them north-south so the shade moves
with the sun.) Go with what you have.

Subject: [Market-farming] Shade for salad beds?
Hi All,
I have some frames made for putting shading above lettuce / salad
beds. Do any of you think that i can used one or more layer of row-cover
stapled onto it or is official "shade cloth" necessary for success? We
are trying to avoid purchasing another product for this.....trying to
recycle all materials possible.
Thanks,
Toni
