A dog?

You could lay chicken wire down flat over the rows, except
the plants would get in the way. Hmmmm... I guess you could
cut out a space for the plants. I have read that cats,
dogs, etc. won't walk on chicken wire. Not sure if it's
true. Our cat would probably walk on NAILS, much less
chicken wire, if an open can of cat food was at the other
end....
