Robin,
Thank you for telling me about your operation and that you think it was worth it. I think that it would be beneficial for us, but having a hard time convincing hubby of that. I think I am going to check with the health department and see what I need for licensing and kitchen set up and go from there. Hopefully with these posts and what I find out from the state, I can show him the benefits of it.

Our kitchen is licensed for home processing. We do baked goods, breads and jarred foods. I can't offer anything that has to be pressure canned because our kitchen is not set up for it. That requires a different license in my state. It's been well worth it.
The licensing process wasn't difficult or expensive. I have to have yearly septic and water tests and an inspection. We had to make a few minor changes to pass inspection.
