Thanks Courtney,
What variety onion seeds do you use?
Marie in Missouri
Marie,
I personally do not have good luck with planting onions sets up here in
Northeast Ohio. I am zone 5 and I seem to have the best luck with just
starting my own onions from seed into flats in February. Then
transplant them outside when the ground is workable. Ususally around
mid May here. I have been growing softball size onions every year when
starting my own, but can't seem to even get them to golfball size when
planting onion sets. But this is fine with me, I love growing my own
little onions plus everytime I give them a "Haircut", I use the little
clippings when I cook, or right on top of my salad!
