Tom when the engineer designed my system he recommended a heater like the
one you have. True it would have worked well as a bottom heat source but
it would not have been enough to heat the 1000 sq ft house I use it in.
I use a 65000 btu hot water heater and it works fine in my climate. Using
two tanks would not help in your case because the system with 1/4" tubing
takes very little water from the tank. 40 gallons is more than enough.
Anti freeze in a closed system can be used though I have not tried it,
it would allow the system to be shut down in winter, and keep the pump
lubricated. Google, Delta T Biotherm ; and you should come up with
a link to pictures of a similar set up...Bob.

Was there any web site where you researched info or any pictures to get your idea from? I looked at my LP hot water tank and it was 40 gal at 30000 btu. Would that be big enough or would 2 tanks be better? I suppose that you run some kind of antifreeze solution in the pipes? Any more info would be helpful. Thanks . Tom Circle. |
