Good Passalong, Dorene Pasekoff!
In my 25 years of gardening in the city, i used to gather Xmas trees
at curbside each January and use them for my yard gardens.......and for
at the elementary school where i was the organic gardening teacher. Kids
loved that recycle.
Out here in the middle of nowhere now, the power company just sent a
crew around to cut trees away from the power lines thru the forest. Now
i have LOTS of conifer tree tops to play with..........and enough young
hickory and white pine to start a woodshed and maybe a henhouse next
year! As i now grow out around 15 varieties of Appalachian Heirloom Pole
Beanies each year, perhaps i will begine to use some of these trees again
- attached to a horizontal top.......these old beans really grow tall
and long.
Thanks for the memory,
Toni
