I'm going ahead with my "tire garden" project. It's going to take up 1/2 -
3/4 acre with a tire stack spacing of 8ft. Doing the math, that works out
to be about 300 stacks. It'll all be on drip irrigation. It'll grow
melons, winter/summer squash, cukes, and pumpkins.
It's an interesting project for many reasons. Maybe what I should do is
see if someone at the local university might be interested in studying it
with me. Perhaps if we get someone to take some measurements over a coupla
years and see what's going on, we can have a better idea about if this
method is acceptable to those of us (me included) who want to keep toxins
out of our veggies.
