Hi David,
 
Most food banks are desperate for fresh produce--the main staple of most food banks is day old white bread and buns.  During the season I make a weekly donation of my surplus (all in good eating condition) to my town's food bank.  They are overjoyed to get whatever I give them.

How does one go about donating fresh produce to the elderly or those in
need. I was under the impression that food banks will not accept fresh
produce.
