I've used a few 8' umbrellas. I much prefer EZUp/Caravan canopies.
The canopies are much easier to secure against wind and give better
rain and sun protection. Of the umbrellas I have used, the plastic
stick ones have proven more durable than the real wood ones. I don't
have sources at hand, but they are easy to find online. For 8', $100
is a "normal" price, but you sometimes see them as low as $50.
