Just a few comments;

Apricots are not very winter hardy and would normally be too tender to
grow in your area, except that you probably have lake effect benefits from
Lake Erie. They aren't too difficult to care for but they take several years
to come into production. There may be some varieties which won't do well
there, either because of too few heat units or too tender, even with lake
effect. They flower earlier than most other fruit so if you tend to have
late Spring frosts, you may want to talk to locals about the chance that
lake effect will protect you there.
