Jennie,
Jericho isn't a huge, tall, narrow Romaine. It is a bit wider than the type
you see in the stores. It will be about 10-12" tall and at least that wide
or wider when mature. We actually cut some in early June that weighed over
2.5 pounds! We could fit only 5 or 6 in a 1 1/9 bushel box! You're right,
the customers don't care too much about shape - just being able to buy sweet
lettuce in summer is enough.
