We too, give credit to our Pyrenees for solving the deer problem. We no
longer have deer anywhere close since she came to live with us. There
is a herd of about 30 that roam around this area, but they give our
place a wide berth. We also have not lost a chicken to predators since
she came. I saw her go into the chicken house once where a possum had
holed up. She grabbed it by the scruff of the neck, took it outside and
chomped it up. Minnie is friendly to most people, but once in a while,
there are people she won't allow out of their vehicles and they're the
ones who don't belong here. Now, we have six three week old guard pups
whose father guards a huge flock of geese, cattle and assorted birds -
we'll be invincible!
We got a grown, experienced Great Pyrenees.
