Magnetic devices are hoaxes. They are loosely based on reality.
If they really worked water softener manufacturers would go out of business.
If you run water through a pipe with one of those things you'll notice no
scale in the immediate vicinity of the pipe where they are attached but a
few inches away from the magnet(s) the pipe is full of deposits again.
