We had ample rain (and several three-, four- and five-inch rains on top of
that) all spring, summer and fall. A hundred miles away, typically
emerald-green May and June looked like seared August or September, but the
riding mower and I couldn't keep up with the grass here. 1999 and 2000 were
tree-killing drought years here, though, so on average we're just right.
(But then, a guy with one foot in a bucket of ice and the other in a bucket
of hot coals is, on average, comfortable.)
