Title: RE: [market-farming] vendor fees and farmers' markets in public parks

Hi, our humble market is held in the town park, here in Cottage Grove, Oregon..the local Chamber "sponsors" us, but in reality, we're self-sufficient in that we are paying our entertainment bills, and in the black to boot..

Thanks to everyone who has or will respond to my query about vendor fees. I
will compile the results and post to the group.

Several of you commented on our choice of trying to site the market in a
public park.  This is not the place for all the details of our
decision....but this was not our first choice.  We actually have few really
good options now that our first choice -a nice, shaded church parking- was
nixed due to a city zoning ordinance that prohibits commercial activity on
church land.

I am wondering if there are any examples out there of farmers markets in
public (city) parks that we could use to bolster our case with the local
parks commission.  Thanks.
