Most of our markets are operated by associations of farmers on
rent-free locations. Stall fees are based on sales during each market
and are set to encourage small gardners. This is typical:
Sales stall fee
<$50 $2
<$100 $4
<$200 $6
<$400 $8
>$400 $10
Some sellers greatly exceed the $400 threshold at times; we are
considering adding about 1% of sales exceeding $500.
Fees are collected by the manager near the end of each market. Since
we have weeded out the peddlers, honesty prevails; there has been zero
suspecion of members underpaying the fee.
This is in Central Texas and covers about 8-10 markets operated by 4
associations.
