Regards to the list:
Thanks for the information, Joan. I'll give them a call
I'm sorry about your ewe. I felt bad when our eldest ewe, Sophia, died. She was our first sheep and I bottle-fed her.
We're down to two new lambs - the small one died in the night.
The workshop was fantastic! I came home all fired up and ready to expand! The information they crammed into our heads was almost overwhelming. The people who taught were really knowledgeable and entertaining and NICE!
One of the things - the girl showed us how she spins her lettuce. She got a large round plastic laundry basket with small holes in it (I've been looking for one) and drilled more holes in the bottom. Then put four I-bolts around the top secured with nuts and attached rope to them, then the four ropes attached to a hook on the ceiling. She puts the wet greens in it, winds it up and lets go. viola! spun greens! It is something that any of us could afford. There was a big crowd and we all could ask questions. And having a meal in the dining room was almost as informative - just talking to each other.
I highly recommend going to the Michael Fields workshop if you get a chance. They said the one next year would be in Ohio. Ewell from this list was there, but I didn't realize who he was until I got home. (he really is a handsome fellow)
I think I'm going to try to do the organic market in the city - how can I contact them to see if I can? Also might send a kid or two to the KC City market. I have found a guy who already knows organic farming and he is willing to help me part time. Going to try to incorporate some biodynamic methods into our farm. I feel like the workshop has been a turning point for me.

An excellent source for rootstock and a great variety of fruit trees and/or
scionwood and budwood is Bear Creek Nursery in Northport, Washington. Email
address is bearcreek AT plix.com - phone number is 509-732-6219. Their
catalog is so full of good information that its just good to have anyway.
How was the workshop last week end in Jeff City?
Congratulations on your triplets! We, just this morning, buried our oldest
ewe who died last night - at least she picked a pretty day to die!
