Let me elaborate a little on what I said earlier. I assume that you
are fairly new to farmers marketing and I will say what seems obvious to
me: Allowing farmers market vendors to re-sell ANYTHING, even local
products, will almost certainly lead to abuse. Allowing re-selling of
"neighbors" products make meaningful verification difficult to
impossible. Rest assured that peddlers will take advantage of such an
opportunity. All sellers at a farmers market should be willing, even
eager, to show the origin of their offerings. Anyone that says: "What,
you don't trust me?" or "That's quite an imposition, I don't have time
to be dealing with a lot of visitors" is quite likely to be cheating.
This is the voice of experience speaking. I have been farmers
marketing since 1981. On the other hand, perhaps there are no
dishonest people there in northern Mississippi. :-))
