We have Chambourcin in trial in St Charles, IL and in Urbana, IL. I'd
love to see it survive here but the folks in Urbana have reservations about
growing it there. By the way, the grape growing regions of New York
generally have milder winters than we do in all but the deepest southern
areas of Illinois. You're right about quality. Chambourcin has the potential
to make outstanding wines. But growing them for harvest in central Illinois
is still a big question.
