Was this corn produced as one crop or staged from July till October,
here in southern NJ we have a worm free period usually between July 15
to almost August first that processors look for, this is after first
generation borer and before earworm arrival from the southern USA, worm
preshure gets intence after September, any stress especially dry weather
can make corn more attractive to worms especially Armyworms...
