The trig formula for the width of a one sided bevel on a piece of flat stock is "opposite over hypotenuse" or

cosecant. For a 1" one-sided bevel on a .125" thickness blank, the cosecant is 1.000" divided by 0.125" or 8. The angle

whose cosecant is 8 is 7.18° and half of that is 3.6°.


3.6 degrees per side gives a one inch bevel on each side.
