Seems like a good , inexpensive deal but I can't see the point completely. If I understand it right Mike the gardener aims to make 2 and a half grand in over two months through this. I don't know about his costs like postage and packaging but he can't get much out of it as profit. And the goal of selling 150 sets only are not really going to change the world.
At the same time buyers will probably get a bit overwhelmed by 48 seed packs unless they are experienced gardeners already and in that case I would imagine they would be more specific in their choice of seed. They have some experience in exactly which variety does best for them and would be disappointed if a seed packet arrived of a variety that has not done well for them.

I would advise all gardeners to make a serious attempt to start saving their own seeds of their own favorite varieties. I sometimes read about old gardeners complaining that the seed of the only tomato variety they like is no longer available. To me that is close to criminal negligense because saving tomato seed is so easy even here in Ireland. I have three varieties that do well for us and that I have grown year after year for decades. Most years we try a few plants of a to us new variety because someone tells us this is very good. If that proves to be the case we save the seed from then on but this is seldom the case.
A lot of time and effort can be wasted in trials for our climate is not easy on vegetables.

And if we find a very succesful new vegetable or variety anybody who wants to can have a free seed sample. My contribution in making this a better world.

John

Folks, I saw this on a gardening list.
Has anyone seen this offer?
http://www.indiegogo.com/mike_the_gardener

I ordered 48 packs of vegetable seeds for $14.00.
They also have 4 packs a month for life for $99.00.
