I'm no ethno-nutritionist, but it seems to me the Inuit DO get their vitamin C from the meat they eat. They eat much of it raw, do they not? Just dried maybe? Since most animals including dogs (not humans, nor guinea pigs I'm told) do make their own vitamin C, there's a chance Amuindsen's group did get all they needed from the meat, if it was only lightly cooked. Just speculating.
