1. organically grown soy, which is the only kind that should be
eaten, is not genetically engineered. Some megamfrs., such as Dean
Foods, are quietly buying up small companies and switching from OG to
GE soy (Silk soymilk now says "natural" instead of
"organic"). The GE soy is the kind that is fed to livestock
and is often in mass-market junky foods, so it's nonvegetarians who
are eating almost all of it.
