Farmers Markets are great but so is a well run food coop. I have given a great example from my state of Oklahoma below. The suppliers are locally grown sustainable and one can buy from them directly or through the coop. Thus those of us that have a bad year in an area have access to a supplier in our state that can be trusted for a specific need we have which happens from time to time. Those in cities have a continuous supply from dependable sources for their needs. Just another avenue of getting supply and market together without the middle man since the suppliers are their own middle man. This also allows the grower to maximize his efforts while allowing the consumer to maximize their food dollar and gives them the consumer the ability to plan ahead meal preparations and needs. Farmers markets are fantastic but depend on weather, ability to get there for both farmer and consumer at unreal times for most of us whereas the coop is dependable and for many only outlet to real food at a real price for both them and producer.

No to NAIS
The scariest thing isn't the daily news; it's our food's lack of Country of Origin Labels (COOL) and
the horrid NAIS to make it worse with eliminating real food safety and family farms for only factory farms.
1% of imports inspected and how many have melamine in the meats/foods and what other unknowns are we feeding our children?
