What's controversial about it?  Anna Lappe is the daughter of Frances Moore Lappe, co-author of their new book Hope's Edge, and a strong social activist.  She has many "radical" views, (say, compared to our federal government), but I didn't see anything in the piece you referenced that I would consider controversial.
