"The current brag of agribusiness is that one farmer can now feed 95 people
on the average. Acre for acre, how puny that is compared to what "Roe"
accomplished in 1855-60. They were ten people, plus the animals, on ten
acres and selling a large crop of fruit, produce and meat... All this
without one cent of fossil fuel for power.. Mr Average 1980's farmer
supports a family and 95 people on sixty four times as much land if he's
farming the section of land that so many of them are. ..There are so-called
experts that say small farms are not efficient and labor intensive farming
is a waste."
