Paul, I had just about given up propagating my tea bush (camellia sinensis) but I noticed yesterday that I had roots on one branch that I've been layering since last spring. The bush does well here, zone 7-8, Alabama, USA. Its in a protected spot and when temps dive under 20*F I usually cover the bush just to be sure its ok. Other than mulch and making sure it gets water during drought, there is little to worry about the bush. Aphids don't seem to be attracted to it and I see no other pest or problems with it. I also have seed pods this year.

I haven't read your link yet but I prefer white tea BTW.
