Came across this link on sorghum syrup and growing
http://www.hort.purdue.edu/newcrop/afcm/syrup.html
I wonder about its potential as a homegrown sweetener. Also whether certain
varieties and soil conditions are more resistant to disease and need less
fertilizer. I suspect healthy soil would easily do without all the
chemicals they recommend. And avoiding monoculture, with mixed plantings,
might help deter pests? Anybody growing sorghum or making syrup? What
varieties?
