Most of this is from Seminis' own website. Others can read it any way they
want, but I see code words and red flags. Even IF they weren't already
selling GMOs now, is it acceptable for a single company to control so much
of the world's seed market?

"Modern biotechnology allows researchers to identify and transfer specific
traits (and their respective genes) to accomplish specific goals. This
precision is unlocking a world of possibilities ..."

Germplasm Development - A search for new traits and diversity.
Seminis plant breeders are supported by an important group of researchers
— germplasm developers — who search for genes still locked in the vast
reservoir of the wild relatives of cultivated vegetables. Germplasm
developers use the latest techniques to identify these new genes and
rapidly make them usable by plant breeders. In tomatoes, for instance,
researchers are identifying genes that offer protection from plant
diseases, improved fruit qualities like firmness, sugar content and higher
levels of lycopene, an important antioxidant.

The Heart of Seminis
http://www.seminis.com/research_education/research_educ_main.html

that meet regional consumer needs and are adapted to local microclimates.
The company also fosters a wide network of strategic alliances with
international research partners, adding strength and versatility to our
scientific efforts.

Seminis markets its products to commercial growers in 150 countries and
territories through a network of dealers, distributors, wholesalers and, in
some places, a team of Seminis or brand-specific sales representatives.
