I run 64bit windows 7 ultimate and I haven't see any issues with memory
requirements. What I have seen is a lack of 64 bit drivers for some
devices, especially print drivers. I have to use a generic driver that
doesn't support the scanner in my printer or all the fancy features of
my all-in-one.

I'd recommend making sure your printer has a windows 7 64bit driver with
all the functionality you need. I'd also check the support website for
your computer and make sure you can get 64bit version of all the drivers
for your computer.

The fact people pay you money for computer work astounds me with every
post you make.

Colleen your memory *requirements* won't quadruple but you'll gain the
ability for the OS to see over 3.5 GB.

"Thanks! I have 2GB in the machine now and am going to replace it with
2 x 4GB sticks-- but not because I knew that I would *have* to, but for
the opposite reason-- because to increase the memory, I *had* to go to
the 64
bit OS :). What are the positives?"

I'd say being able to have 8GB of ram in your machine is a pretty big
positive by itself.
