I don't know that U-Verse is fiber to the home. I thought it was optimized DSL + services. I've heard that the wire down to the house is either Cat3/5 or coax.
I don't really have a problem with my TWC IP service, although the 1.5 up would be a nice improvement. The main attraction for me would be TV services delivered through a set top box that wasn't completely awful.
